Activities Week London Trip
London was such a great experience to be a part of, it really helped us all to bond and understand what the life of a traveling musician would actually be like. Lots of new friendships were made on the trip and all of the year groups mixed together nicely. Watching Charlie and the chocolate factory was an inspiring aspect of the trip as for many of us drama, music and performing in musicals is an aspiration. Some of our musicians also found the orchestra in the pit an interesting aspect of the production. We performed in the actors church in Covent garden and as part of the experience, had to transport our own instruments to the venue (in the rain!), we set up and rehearsed, and had feedback from a professional musical theatre conductor from the Lion King. We stayed overnight in a hotel and we felt like one big family! The teachers looked after us and made the whole experience fun but extremely educational (and Mrs Luing made us laugh lots by entertaining us on the microphone on the coach!) We will value this experience for the rest of our lives and on top of what we learnt we also made lifelong friends, developed friendships that we already had and gained life skills that will benefit us in our futures.
