BP Ultimate STEM Challenge

BP Ultimate STEM Challenge

Noah and Seth (Year 7) have entered the BP Ultimate STEM challenge. Between them they have designed and built a prototype to create a solution to a real-life problem.

Since October half term both Seth and Noah have dedicated lunchtimes to developing their idea; a hydroelectric turbine. Their completed entry included a presentation and a video of their working prototype.

Seth and Noah wanted to design something that would reduce the use of non-renewable energy sources. Their hydroelectric turbine is designed to be placed inside the downpipes on buildings, making use of the large volume of water that falls to power streetlights.

The finalists will be announced at the end of March – so watch this space!
