Carbeile Maths Challenge
A group of Year 10 TCC students went back to primary school recently to assist in a Maths challenge activity with Year 6 students from Carbeile Junior School. The activity was organised by Mr Doogan, and involved the students having to decipher various coded clues to try and work out a “mystery number”.
Good teamwork was required, as well as good code-cracking and numerical skills! The Carbeile students worked in four large groups and with the help of the Year 10 students from TCC, were able to meet the challenge and discover what the “mystery number” was. It was an excellent afternoon with all the students collaborating splendidly to come out with the correct solution.
Mr Doogan said “It was fantastic to see all the Carbeile students engaged in the activity and working so well in teams. My Year 10 students were also a credit to the College, assisting the Year 6s and helping the event to run very smoothly. A big thank you also needs to go to Mrs Sales, the Deputy Head at Carbeile Junior School, for helping to organise the event and making it a great success.
