Cyber Bullying Assembly

Cyber Bullying Assembly

On Monday 13th April Rich Cottell visited the College to talk to students in special assemblies about keeping safe on the internet and issues around cyber bullying.  Rich is also a successful songwriter and musician and entertained students (and staff) by singing 3 songs and playing his guitar.  Rich sang “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran), a fantastic song that he wrote himself “Whisk Away the Working Day” and then invited some students to sing along with him to “Uptown Funk”.  Rich stayed for the whole College day and joined students in the canteen for lunch, signing his autograph and thoroughly enjoying being around the students.

The day was a HUGE success and there were a lot of happy smiling students!

There was a serious message to Rich’s talks – a close family member of his was a victim of bullying and cyber bullying for 3 years, so because of the trauma he knows this can cause those who are victims of such a terrible crime, he now educates young people and points out all the dangers, and positive side, to the internet and gaming devices.  Rich is very professional and extremely proficient at getting this message across, being young himself (23), he knows how to relate to young people by using his musical talents.

Rich will be mentioning his visit to TCC this Friday 17th April at 6.00 pm, which is when he updates his YouTube weekly blog – if you would like to see his YouTube site, here is the link https://www.youtube.com/user/RichCottellMusic
