Duke of Edinburgh News

On Wednesday 10th December, some of our DofE participants met with the Headteacher, Mrs Porter and Mrs Trotter to discuss the hard work they have been doing towards their Award this year.  A huge thank you to Tina Crago (Catering Manager) for all of the lovely food provided, especially the Christmas biscuits!!

We look forward to seeing more of the participant’s hard work in the New Year; this is also when the expedition training will begin in earnest (please see the website for the full training programme).

Particular notes for your diary – We have a training day scheduled for all participants (all levels) on Saturday 7th February; this will be focussing on First Aid and we will be having a visit from Cotswold Outdoors to show participants the best way to pack their rucksack for expeditions and suggested items to take with you.

The first Bronze expedition (for those whose expedition was postponed in September) will take place 14 to 15th March and will be around the Looe and Polperro area, with overnight camping at Great Kellow Farm.  Further information and details to follow.

May I take this opportunity of wishing all participants a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year – keep up the good work!!
