Free School Meals

*IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY RECEIVING FREE SCHOOL MEALS*

Dear Parent/carers

As you may be aware, the Department for Education (DfE) has developed a centrally-funded national voucher scheme to enable schools to continue to provide free school meals for your child/children even if they are not attending school at this time. You will shortly be receiving a telephone call from the College (please note the call may show as number withheld) asking you if you have access to a valid email address. If so, you will be sent an e-mail, before 14th April, containing a 16 digit eCode with a value attached (equivalent to £3 a day). This will enable you to go online to redeem the code against a choice of eGift cards (delivered electronically) which currently include the following food retailers:

  • Morrisons
  • Tesco
  • Sainsbury’s 
  • Asda
  • Waitrose
  • M & S Food

The eGift card email will contain a link to a barcode which can be presented at the till in-store either on a smartphone screen or printed on a piece of paper, just like a gift card.

Should you not have access to a valid email address the College will be able to redeem the code on your behalf and print the supermarket voucher of your choice. The voucher will then be posted out to you.
