GCSE Year 10 Catering Practical Exams

Yet again our hardworking students did themselves proud by planning, preparing, cooking and serving four different dishes, which best represented dairy products, as well as high level culinary skills.

This was a difficult challenge, but the students excelled serving up “restaurant style” food within the two hours allowed. This year the dishes were all superb with students completing some quite complex tasks such as portioning whole chickens, to then stuff with dairy products and serve with seasonal julienne vegetables; a very skilled job indeed. The desserts were stunning too, with triple chocolate mousses served with piped cream and vanilla pannacotta with raspberry coulis being everyone’s favourites.

All students did exceptionally well and have secured 20% of their final GCSE grade. Well done Year 10.
