Marine Careers Workshop and STEM Challenge

Marine Careers Workshop and STEM Challenge

As part of the activities for Careers Week and Science Week taking place in the College, students in Miss Pine’s Year 7 and 8 classes took part in a workshop led by the South West Regional STEM Coordinator for the Sea Cadets South West, Les Mitchell. Students were able to find out more about the different types of careers available within the field of marine engineering. Students then participated in a STEM challenge where they were asked to build a boat that could hold marbles. The students rose to the challenge and the winning students were able to design and construct a boat that could hold 384 marbles! Well-done to the students involved.
