Mock Ten Tors

Mock Ten Tors

Due to Storm Hannah, last weekend’s students’ training for the Ten Tors Challenge started with them sleeping in the Sixth Form! This meant setting off early on Saturday morning to be ready to start at Shortacombe by 7am.  Although the visibility was excellent, the walkers had to deal with very strong winds and they finally finished (a little late) south at Postbridge and camped out at Princetown.  It was then up and ready to head back to Postbridge on Sunday morning for the final day.  The wind had dropped but by the end of the day the visibility caused a few issues.  With some students dropping out, the remainder of the walkers finished at Shortacombe where they were treated to some yummy cakes.

The next walk is the Challenge itself so good luck to all who have been selected.  Well done to all those who took part in the Mock Ten Tors weekend end and a massive thank you to the adults (volunteers) who gave up their time to help train the students.
