Congratulations to the 7A and 8A netball teams who competed in the next round of the SE Cornwall league last week in the Callington dome.

7A lost their first match to a strong Tavistock A team 4-0 (nominated player Willow) but came back fighting and determined in their next matches against Callington 13-3 (nominated player Daisy) and Tavistock B 17-0 (nominated player Willow). In all 3 matches Sophie, Lara and Daisy defended strongly with Willow, Lucy and Holly attacking well to get the ball up to the shooting circle. They communicated well with Willow, Rosa and Lucy when shooting. The shooting accuracy improved with confidence as the games went on. All players agreed that they need to start their first match with more confidence and to get in to their play much quicker.

8A had a nail biting first match against a strong Tavistock A but kept their composure, showing excellent shooting skills when under pressure, to win 5-4 (nominated player Alice). They continued their form in the next two matches to beat Callington A 6-0  (nominated player Rosie) and Tavistock B 16-5 (nominated player Holly). Sky, Savannah and Maddie communicated and intercepted really well in defence, linking really effectively with Holly, Rosie, Roxie and Alice who showed both strength and control when attacking together. The shooting from Rosie, Alice and Roxie was exceptional.

Well done to all players who did themselves proud and supported each other brilliantly. Thank you to our supportive parents for coming to cheer the girls on.

The 7B and 8B teams will begin their SE Cornwall fixtures in January. Teams will be picked from those who regularly attend training.
