Relationships and Sex Education

Relationships and Sex Education

All our year 10 students took part in a Relationships and Sex Education themed morning on Monday 1st July in addition to the RSE covered in their PSHE lessons.

The aim of the day was to provide students with the knowledge and skills that they need to make informed decisions about their lives and to allow discussion of the many issues associated with this subject. The event was delivered by Brook, the leading young people’s sexual health and wellbeing organisation. The Brook Bitesize event gives an introduction to the issues young people will face every day, with Brook facilitators guiding them through fun zones provoking discussion and debate. Activities focused on the law and age of consent, safer sex and attitudes and values towards relationships and sex. Brook run a clinic in the Children’s Centre on Monday’s 3.30-6pm which students can access if they need further information, advice or support.
