Remote Learning Update

Remote Learning Update

We are hugely impressed by how well our students have adapted to remote learning and we know that lots of them are working hard at home.  We value all work completed and want to offer advice and feedback.
Guidance  for students  re: how we will monitor the work you complete at home and offer feedback:

  • During week 1 of remote learning, we will not be asking students to send us their work.  This is because we want to keep our time free to answer students’ questions and give advice to anyone who is struggling with remote learning.  If students have typed up some work and do want to send it to their teacher for advice, they can do this via the College email.
  • From April 14th, teachers will endeavour to monitor students’ work and offer feedback electronically.  We cannot accept any paper based work – but do keep it all safe for when we return to school.

Teachers might:

  1. Ask students to type up a specific piece of work and email it to them
  2. Ask students to take photographs of what they have done and save the photos in a centralised area such as Google docs
  3. Provide a quiz for students to complete on Show My Homework – although the teacher won’t see the actual work that has been completed, they will be able to make inferences about student understanding.  Responses to quiz questions will allow us to quickly see what has been understood and what has presented difficulties.  This will then inform what we set in the future.
