Richard Feast Memorial
The brilliant Fashion Show marks the end of our official fund raising for the Richard Feast Memorial which we hope will be unveiled around May of 2016 and in time for our second Richard Feast Memorial Mile. The college would like to thank the huge number of staff, students, ex staff and students, members of the local community and many more who have done so much to raise money for the Plymouth Oncology Ward, Cancer Research and Brain Tumour Research as well as the Memorial. The response to Mr Feast’s untimely death last summer has been phenomenal and it was a great comfort to him before he died to know people were fighting his battle with him and just how much he meant to those who knew him or were taught by him. He was a truly inspirational man and teacher.
The memorial sculpture is being created by local artist Reece Ingram using Cornish granite. It will be located at the top of the college drive and will be the first thing greeting all visitors to the college for many years to come. Mr Feast is still much missed and will be long remembered. As part of his legacy there will be a Richard Feast Award for Science that will be awarded to the most hard working and enthusiastic science student each year. The Richard Feast Memorial Mile will be a regular annual feature of our college calendar. We will be announcing which charity we are fundraising for nearer the time. Funds are still trickling in but it looks like our final total is more than : £8,000
Well done and thank you to all who donated, attended or ran any of events to support Mr Feast or raised money in any way.
