Rights Respecting Schools – Donation Delivery
Before the summer break members of the Rights Respecting Schools Steering Group assisted in successfully delivering TCC’s donations of clothes, shoes, food and baby supplies to Open Hearts Open Borders, a recently founded charitable organisation, to their Saltash depot. This is where we met with Faraday Fearnside, who has been instrumental in setting up OHOB – an organisation which has now grown from one van travelling to Calais, to deliver much needed supplies to the camps there, to one which now contributes to and distributes donations to local charities and organisations, helping support those in our communities who need it most.
This was a valuable visit for our students, and an experience which has inspired them to want to play a more active role in helping this cause. As such our students will be championing an idea called ‘Love in a Box’ which will provide specific items desired by children and young people in particular. This is something that is desperately needed, and will be hugely appreciated. They will be promoting this in earnest now we have returned to College, and we will once again be asking for your support with this. We wish to extend our thanks to everyone who supported this collection – and want you to know how much you have helped to make a difference to many people’s lives – THANK YOU!
