KS4 BTEC Travel and Tourism – Pearson BTEC Tech Award Level 1/Level 2 in Travel and Tourism

This course is intended to:

  • Develop students’ understanding of one of the world’s largest and most exciting industries.
  • Help students build practical skills in research, planning, communication and customer service.
  • Explore how travel and tourism organisations meet the needs of different customers and destinations.
  • Prepare students for further study, apprenticeships and careers within the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors.

Students will study a range of topics that enable them to understand how the travel and tourism industry operates and the opportunities it provides.

The course consists of both internally assessed coursework and an externally assessed component.

  • Travel and Tourism Organisations and Destinations
  • Customer Needs in Travel and Tourism
  • Influences on Global Travel and Tourism

Students will have opportunities to investigate real-world travel and tourism organisations, analyse visitor destinations and develop skills that are highly valued by employers.

This is a Level 1/Level 2 BTEC qualification equivalent in size to one GCSE.
