College closed on Wednesday 1st February due to strike action
Next week is the first of four days of teacher strikes that have been announced by the NEU to take place in this region. As shared with you in a message sent out last week, there is uncertainty over how many teachers will actually take strike action on Wednesday 1st February. However, based on the indicative number that has been shared with me I have had to make the decision to close the College for all but the most vulnerable students for whom a Support School provision will be put in place. For the remainder of the students, their teachers have been asked to direct them to online resources they can use to complete online learning for the day they are not at school. I appreciate the disruption this may cause to many of you, but unfortunately this is beyond our control.
Details on the Support School arrangements will be shared with the students and parents as necessary. Please note the remaining strike dates that may impact on the College are 2nd, 15th and 16th March.
