Marjons Sport and Exercise Science Laboratory
TCC Year 10 Sport Science students visited Marjons recently to look at technology available for studying the effects of exercise on the body and for injury rehabilitation. Students got to test various components of their fitness such as power and strength as well as experiencing the anti-gravity treadmill and various ice and compression machines used in the sports therapy clinic. They also had a tour of the campus sports facilities and had the opportunity to watch an inter university basketball match.
Netaball News
The Year 7 netball team have trained hard this year and have had a really successful first. They qualified in 4th place at the East County tournament to represent East Cornwall at the County finals in Truro. Despite several injuries on the day the girls showed fighting spirit to finish 9th in Cornwall this year. Well done!
The Year 10 netball squad have stuck together for 4 years and are a wonderful squad to work with. They travelled to Bude last week with two teams for an end of season East County tournament. Finishing 2nd and third in the round robin they fought hard in the play off finishing 2nd and third again just behind Bude
Summer term extra-curricular sport
With summer term just around the corner we are looking forward to a term of volleyball, rounders, athletics, and tennis fixtures and tournaments for those who attend clubs regularly. Students can check the summer extra- curricular programme on the tutor and PE notice boards.
