Ten Tors 2022
Well done to the amazing group of students who took part in the 60th Anniversary of the Ten Tors Challenge last weekend. Although there was some mist at the start of both days, it turned out to be a warm weekend. The College entered 4 teams, three 35 mile and one 45 mile team. Unfortunately, team Delta (Bethan, Lizzie, Katie, Eddie, Kelly and Olivier) were unable to complete their route, but they showed fantastic team work and vowed to return next year.
Team Bravo (Leo, Holly, Ben, Herbie, Noah and Seth) were the first of our teams in on the Sunday at 1135hrs, followed by Team Alpha (Harrison, Toby, Louis, Seb and Theo).
The 45 mile team (Daniel, Holly, Holly, Ollie, Connor and Ella) kept everyone on edge as they looked like they would miss the crash time at their 9th tor, but passed with minutes to spare. Ollie made the decision to stop at Dinger, feeling he was slowing the team down. The team linked with another school and together they cracked out the 10th Tor. With lots of support and encouragement the teams ran down the hill to finish at 1654hrs but finish they did!
A massive thank you to all the volunteers who were not only out last weekend but throughout the training season to give the students the opportunity to take part in this amazing event. Also a thank you to family and friends of these great TCC students for being there to cheer everyone in and for supporting them throughout training.
There will be a presentation evening on Wednesday 18th May in the Sixth Form, starting at 6.30pm.
Please can students return the team equipment and borrowed items by this date.
Thank you.
