On Saturday 5th March students training for the Ten Tors Challenge spent the afternoon having their kit checked and learning some basic first aid in preparation for the main event. They also went over the rules and guidance as they are now officially training for Ten Tors. Well done to Holly B & Noah for being the overall winners of the quiz.
On the Sunday the teams successfully completed their first unaccompanied walk on Dartmoor. After cancelling the walk two weeks ago due to the stormy weather, this time we were welcomed with a clear, cold and sunny day on the moors. The walkers set off from Leeden Tor Car Park, passed through Hexworthy and finished at Postbridge. A very big thank you to the adult volunteers who waited on the check points and were hugely supportive of the students’ efforts, and well done to everyone involved.
The next expedition is a two day walk with an overnight camp. It is important for all students to attend the planning on Wednesday 16th March.
