University of Exeter: Exeter Scholars Scheme for year 10 students to promote progression of students onto studying Higher Education at University.

Eligible students in year 10 can now apply to take part in this programme run by Exeter University.

Previous students have found the Exeter Scholars programme to be very beneficial. Students can start the programme in year 10 and carry on taking part in Sixth Form. Taking part in the programme can result in lower offers for grades for entry to Exeter University although you do not need to be planning to study at Exeter to take part.

Information from the University:

We are pleased to inform you that applications are now open for the Exeter Scholars Year 10 Virtual Residential pathway!

This year, due to the ongoing covid-19 situation, the decision has been taken to run the year 10 residential virtually, delivered via a combination of online platforms – Brightspace, TAP, and Zoom. The Year 10 Virtual Residential will run from Tuesday 19th to Friday 29th April 2022. The first week – Tuesday 19th to Friday 22nd April – will include an introductory session and completion of short activities relating to the participants’ chosen subject stream (to be completed in the participants’ own time). The second week – Monday 25th to Friday 29th April – will build upon these introductory activities with daily group project sessions, so that participants can explore their chosen subject stream further.

We would like to invite you to encourage eligible students to complete an application form for this pathway of the Exeter Scholars programme: www.exeter.ac.uk/exeterscholars/apply/year10/year10virtualresidentialpathway/.

IMPORTANT: All applicants should receive an immediate automated email confirmation to the email address provided if their application form is submitted successfully. If they do not receive an immediate automated email confirmation, this could mean that their application has not been submitted successfully. In this case, they should either resubmit the form or get in touch with us directly to check whether their application has been submitted successfully.

On the application form, applicants will be asked to select a first and second choice of subject stream, which will be the subject-specific content that they will complete as part of the Virtual Residential. They can find the list of subject streams, and a short description of them, here: www.exeter.ac.uk/exeterscholars/currentparticipants/year10virtualresidential.

The deadline for students to complete the application form is midnight on Friday 18th March 2022. We will inform the students – and  College whether they have been successful within two weeks of this date.
